Who we are

Caring and accepting through Jesus.

We are a group of people with a common interest in loving God.

We are all on a journey together, with the Bible and Jesus as the guide to lead the way. We are all from a variety of different backgrounds and walks of life, sharing together the love of God.

We welcome everyone and accept all. We do not think we have all the answers, but are sure that the answer to any question, can be found in Jesus.

About COTM

How did it start?

Back in 1999, John Powell was invited to attend a ministry trip with his friend Carl Brettle, to South Africa. John suspected that things were about to change for him, but little did he know just what God was about to do!

John received three prophetic words from three unrelated people to start a church. This not only terrified him and his wife Anne, whom knowing Johns character did not think he fitted the role of a pastor at all! But being faithful to what the Lord had asked of him, he came back from Africa and started a church in his house that very Sunday. The house was full.

Soon enough the church started to meet in town halls, school halls, anywhere that would allow them. From this, the name ‘Church on the Move’ was born.

After 14 years of moving from hall to hall, the opportunity arose to hold our meetings in the Mission Hall in Neath. A church rich in heritage and truly a Testament to God's goodness in Neath. COTM has met there ever since.

Church on the move is not your average style church some would say. Roughly half the congregation are musicians or singers, and really is a church of leaders.

We accept everyone and anyone.
